Course Information: The family development credentialing and certificate program is a specialized Head Start credentialing program for family workersEarn CEU for licensing! that wants to improve the quality of Head Start of their services in supporting families. Being a credentialed Family Development specialist makes all the difference.  Family workers who want recognition for their professional achievement and who want to unlock new career paths come to HS University for their credentials Using the Head Start Program performance standards as our curricula, HS University's Family Development Credentialing and  Certificate program focuses on obtaining valuable support services and strategies through credentialing and hands on learning. Skill mastery and regulations assessment is the foundation of our certificate and credential program. The program is comprised of three levels of academic attainment. Each level builds upon another to ensure consistent skill mastery. Obtaining a Family Development credentialing status is the next progression in a Head Start family worker's professional career.  Beyond the educational degree, a professional credential denotes professional commitment and achievement and represents a "plus" feature of certifying knowledge and experience that meets or exceeds excellence in family support at the national level.  Professional family workers agree to a critical review process that includes evaluation of the candidate's educational preparation, practice experience and peer review of observable skills and abilities. The Professional Credential in Head Start Family Development is a competency-based training program and curricula environment relevant to the work of a Head Start Family Worker and based upon the Head Start Program Performance Standards, the Competency Goals and Indicators for Head Start staff working with families and includes a credible approach to assessing the attainment of these competencies. The training is linked to academic credit and degree programs and to other forms of licensing for Family Workers. The program will help family workers through a training and curricula program that is built on the concept of adult learners and accommodates the training needs of current Head Start staff who are likely to continue to work full-time.  The program has developed best practices and current strategies that will ultimately enhance the quality of family services and outcomes of those staff who continually work with a diverse group of low-income families.  HS University is an approved National Association of Social Worker CE provider.

Registration fees are as follows:

  • $1495.00 per person

The registration fee includes:

  • Up to 40 hours of training or 15 credits
  • 2 Credentialing Exam
  • Comprehensive training manuals
  • All refreshment breaks, including daily light morning refreshments
  • Comprehensive toolkit CD, containing printable forms and procedures

 

Cancellations. Cancellations made after May 15th will be charged $50 per person cancellation fee. If you cancel, you may send a substitute from your organization or transfer your registration fee to a future seminar (with a written request to HSU Training), and we’ll waive the cancellation fee. Participants who register but neither attend nor cancel will be liable for their full registration fee.

This training will benefit all staff responsible working with families in a Head Start program.  Designed for Head Start family workers, this training will also benefit, managers, coordinators, specialist, disabilities, administrators, teachers, program managers and directors.  Teams are encouraged to attend this training.  Any staff that need more information about supporting families in Head Start should attend this training.
